Freedo - BA22 (Men)

I bought these shoes because I need black leather for an upcoming production my daughter is in. She normally wears SD16 shoes and her current size in that shoe is a 5.5 EE. Her street shoe is a child size 4 XXW, or a ladies' 6XW.

Obviously, she has a very wide foot, which is difficult to find in leather shoes. So I was hoping, with the "men's " shoe, I could get away with just a Wide. However, the "sizing tab is not working on this particular item. In the past, when I needed black leather (for another child) I ordered the size they wear in SD16 in the SD60, and it fit. Since SD60s don't come wide enough, I ordered the BA22 half a size down from her current SD16 size--becausethe wide wasn't available in the 5.5...and I was just hoping we could make it work,even if it was a tiny bit small....but, the shoe is actually several sizes too large...as in there was over an inch of space left at the end of the shoe in front of her toe.

There was no information in the listing indicating that the sizing for this shoe is different than all the others.

It's probably a good shoe. I ended up finding a Bloch shoe that is essentially equivalent to this one, and I was guessing on the size on that one, too. Sometimes you guess right....sometimes you don't. Such is the world of ballet! At least they were on clearance, so I didn't pay a lot of money.
